Shepherds with Slingshots provides faith-based, California-compliant training designed to prepare authorized church safety team members to protect congregations with wisdom, restraint, and lawful presence. Our program emphasizes mindset, moral responsibility, and disciplined decision-making, recognizing that the goal of church safety is preservation of life—not confrontation.

This training is built for churches seeking to responsibly steward the safety of their people while remaining fully aligned with biblical values, church authority, and California law.

Core Training Focus Areas

1. Mindset & Moral Responsibility
Participants are trained to understand the spiritual, ethical, and psychological responsibilities that accompany any role involving protection. Emphasis is placed on restraint, judgment, accountability, and servant leadership.

2. Presence, Awareness & De-Escalation
Training prioritizes situational awareness, verbal skills, and physical presence to prevent incidents before they escalate. Avoidance and de-escalation are treated as primary success outcomes.

3. Lawful Defensive Tools
Instruction may include discussion and hands-on training with lawful defensive tools—such as spray, impact tools, or firearms—only where legally permitted and properly authorized. Training does not replace required permits or certifications.

4. Church-Specific Scenarios
Participants work through realistic scenarios unique to church environments, including services, youth activities, special events, and emergency response considerations. Emphasis is placed on coordination, communication, and transition to law enforcement.

5. Legal & Policy Alignment
All training is grounded in California legal boundaries and church governance requirements. Participants are taught what they may, should, and must not do under the law.
